CVE-2026-60905: Vulnerability in the Oracle WebCenter Content product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Content Server).

Vulnerability in the Oracle WebCenter Content product of Oracle Fusion Middleware (component: Content Server). Supported versions that are affected are 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle WebCenter Content. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Oracle WebCenter Content, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized creation, deletion or modification access to critical data or all Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data as well as unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle WebCenter Content accessible data and unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Oracle WebCenter Content. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 9.6 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:L).

Security readout for executives and security teams

Plain-English summary

A critical Oracle WebCenter Content flaw can let an unauthenticated network attacker compromise sensitive content after another person interacts with the attack. Successful exploitation could expose or alter all accessible content, delete critical data, and partially disrupt service. Impact may extend beyond WebCenter Content because the vulnerability crosses security boundaries.

Executive priority

Treat this as an immediate remediation priority for affected, network-reachable systems. Assign ownership, establish the exposed asset count, and track Oracle-guided remediation to completion. The potential for complete content disclosure or modification creates substantial confidentiality and operational risk even though active exploitation is not established.

Technical view

CVE-2026-60905 affects Oracle WebCenter Content Server versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. It is reachable over HTTP without authentication, has low attack complexity, and requires user interaction. The CVSS 3.1 score is 9.6 with high confidentiality and integrity impact, low availability impact, and changed scope. The weakness is categorized as CWE-284.

Likely exposure

Exposure exists where either affected version is deployed and network-accessible over HTTP. Internet-facing or broadly reachable instances warrant the fastest review. The supplied sources do not identify particular configurations, endpoints, or downstream products that increase or reduce exposure.

Exploitation context

The attack is described as easily exploitable and unauthenticated but requires interaction by someone other than the attacker. The supplied bundle states that this CVE is not in KEV and provides no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit availability, or observed campaigns.

Researcher notes

The CVSS vector is AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:L. Scope change indicates potential impact beyond the vulnerable security authority, but the bundle does not identify affected dependent products or the required interaction mechanism. Avoid inferring exploitability details beyond Oracle's description. Remediation specifics must be obtained from the vendor advisory.

Mitigation direction

  • Review Oracle's advisory and apply its supported remediation exactly as directed.
  • Prioritize internet-facing or broadly reachable affected Content Server instances.
  • Reduce HTTP reachability to trusted networks while permanent remediation is evaluated.
  • Preserve relevant access, application, and administrative logs for investigation.

Validation and detection

  • Inventory WebCenter Content deployments and confirm their exact installed versions.
  • Identify affected instances reachable through HTTP, proxies, gateways, or external networks.
  • Confirm Oracle-recommended remediation is applied and recorded for every affected instance.
  • Review logs for unusual unauthenticated activity, content changes, deletions, or service disruption.
  • Verify critical content integrity and investigate unexplained administrative or data changes.
