Security readout for executives and security teams

Plain-English summary

This is a critical Oracle middleware vulnerability in the WebLogic Server Proxy Plug-in. An unauthenticated attacker reaching the service over HTTP could compromise the plug-in and gain broad read or modification access to data the plug-in can reach. Oracle reports possible impact beyond the plug-in because the CVSS scope changes.

Executive priority

Treat as urgent. The vulnerability is remotely reachable without authentication, rated CVSS 10.0, and threatens critical data confidentiality and integrity. Prioritize patch verification and exposure reduction for public-facing Oracle middleware.

Technical view

CVE-2026-60365 affects Oracle WebLogic Server Proxy Plug-in 15.1.1.0.0 and listed Oracle HTTP Server versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. The CVSS 3.1 score is 10.0: network attack vector, low complexity, no privileges, no user interaction, scope changed, high confidentiality and integrity impact, no availability impact.

Likely exposure

Organizations are most exposed where affected Oracle WebLogic proxy plug-in or Oracle HTTP Server components are reachable over HTTP, especially at internet-facing reverse proxy or application entry points.

Exploitation context

The source bundle does not show CISA KEV listing or cited active exploitation. The vendor description says exploitation is easy, unauthenticated, network-accessible over HTTP, and can allow broad unauthorized data access or modification.

Researcher notes

Evidence is limited to the CVE record and Oracle advisory reference in the source bundle. No CWE, exploit details, proof-of-concept, KEV status, or product-specific patch identifiers were provided here. Avoid assuming exploit availability or undocumented affected versions.

Mitigation direction

  • Review Oracle July 2026 CPU guidance for CVE-2026-60365.
  • Apply Oracle-provided fixes for affected components promptly.
  • Limit HTTP access to affected proxy paths where feasible.
  • Reduce internet exposure until vendor remediation is confirmed.
  • Monitor related proxy and application logs for suspicious HTTP activity.

Validation and detection

  • Inventory Oracle WebLogic Server Proxy Plug-in deployments and versions.
  • Check Oracle HTTP Server versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0 for exposure.
  • Confirm remediation status against Oracle July 2026 CPU guidance.
  • Identify externally reachable HTTP endpoints using the affected plug-in.
  • Review logs for anomalous unauthenticated HTTP requests before patching.
