CVE-2026-20055: Cisco Packaged Contact Center Enterprise & Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Multiple vulnerabilities in the web-based management interface of Cisco Packaged Contact Center Enterprise (Packaged CCE) and Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise (Unified CCE) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the web-based management interface of an affected device.  These vulnerabilities exist because the web-based management interface does not properly validate user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by injecting malicious code into specific pages of the interface. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive, browser-based information. To exploit these vulnerabilities, the attacker must have valid administrative credentials.

Security readout for executives and security teams

Plain-English summary

CVE-2026-20055 is a medium-severity Cisco vulnerability in the web management interface for Packaged CCE and Unified CCE. An attacker needs valid administrative credentials and must get another interface user to interact with malicious content. Successful exploitation could run script in that user’s browser context or expose browser-based sensitive information.

Executive priority

Treat as a planned remediation item, not an emergency based on current evidence. Prioritize environments where Cisco contact-center administration is broadly accessible or administrator accounts are shared, stale, or poorly monitored.

Technical view

The issue is CWE-79 cross-site scripting caused by insufficient validation of user-supplied input in specific web management interface pages. CVSS is 4.8, vector AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N. Affected products listed include multiple Cisco Packaged CCE and Unified CCE releases.

Likely exposure

Exposure is mainly organizations running affected Cisco Packaged CCE or Unified CCE versions with administrator access to the web management interface. Risk is constrained because exploitation requires valid administrative credentials and user interaction, but the interface may handle sensitive contact-center administration data.

Exploitation context

The provided sources do not state active exploitation, and the CVE is not listed as KEV. Exploitation requires an authenticated remote attacker with administrative credentials injecting malicious script into specific interface pages, then a user of the management interface triggering the script.

Researcher notes

Evidence is limited to the CVE record and Cisco advisory reference. The source bundle does not provide fixed release details, workaround text, or proof of exploitation. Avoid assuming exploit availability or broader product impact beyond the listed Packaged CCE and Unified CCE versions.

Mitigation direction

  • Check Cisco’s advisory for fixed releases or official workarounds.
  • Inventory Packaged CCE and Unified CCE versions against the affected version lists.
  • Limit administrative access to trusted users only.
  • Review and remove unnecessary administrative accounts.
  • Monitor Cisco advisories for updated remediation details.

Validation and detection

  • Confirm whether Packaged CCE or Unified CCE is deployed.
  • Identify exact product versions and engineering specials in use.
  • Compare versions with the CVE affected version lists.
  • Review admin account activity for unusual interface changes.
  • Verify remediation status against Cisco’s published advisory.
