CVE-2026-1612: Hard-coded AWS Key in AL-KO Robolinho Update Software

AL-KO Robolinho Update Software has hard-coded AWS Access and Secret keys that allow anyone to access AL-KO's AWS bucket. Using the keys directly might give the attacker greater access than the app itself. Key grants AT LEAST read access to some of the objects in bucket. The vendor was notified early about this vulnerability, but didn't respond with the details of vulnerability or vulnerable version range. Only versions 8.0.21.0610 and 8.0.22.0524 were tested and confirmed as vulnerable, other versions were not tested and might also be vulnerable.

Security readout for executives and security teams

Plain-English summary

AL-KO Robolinho Update Software includes embedded AWS credentials. The report says those keys allow access to AL-KO’s AWS bucket, with at least read access to some objects. This is mainly a cloud data exposure and vendor supply-chain concern, not proven active exploitation.

Executive priority

Treat as a moderate-priority vendor credential exposure. It may enable unauthorized access to cloud-hosted objects, but public sources do not show ransomware, device takeover, or active exploitation. Prioritize inventory, vendor follow-up, and credential hygiene if AL-KO cloud assets are in scope.

Technical view

CVE-2026-1612 is CWE-798: hard-coded AWS Access and Secret keys in AL-KO Robolinho Update Software. Confirmed vulnerable versions are 8.0.21.0610 and 8.0.22.0524. CVSS v4.0 is 6.9. The vulnerable version range is unknown because the vendor did not provide details.

Likely exposure

Exposure is confirmed for tested versions 8.0.21.0610 and 8.0.22.0524. Other versions are untested and may also be affected. Risk is greatest where the software package is publicly obtainable or installed on systems accessible to users who can inspect it.

Exploitation context

The issue requires no privileges, user interaction, or attack complexity according to the CVSS vector. Sources do not report active exploitation, and the CVE is not in KEV. Do not assume compromise without evidence from AWS access logs or vendor advisories.

Researcher notes

Evidence is limited to CERT.pl and CVE records. Vendor did not confirm the vulnerable range or provide remediation details in the supplied sources. Only two versions were tested. Avoid using exposed keys during validation; validate by static inspection and authorized asset review.

Mitigation direction

  • Check AL-KO and CERT.pl guidance for a fixed version or vendor response.
  • Inventory installations of Robolinho Update Software and prioritize confirmed vulnerable versions.
  • Avoid distributing affected installers where unnecessary until vendor guidance is available.
  • If managing AL-KO cloud assets, rotate exposed keys and audit bucket access.

Validation and detection

  • Identify installed Robolinho Update Software versions across managed systems.
  • Flag versions 8.0.21.0610 and 8.0.22.0524 as confirmed vulnerable.
  • Review approved software repositories for stored affected installers.
  • Use authorized tooling to check packages for embedded AWS credentials without using them.
  • If responsible for the AWS bucket, review logs for unexpected object reads.

Use of Hard-coded Credentials

Use of Hard-coded Credentials represents a recurring weakness pattern that can create exploitable paths when design, validation, or implementation controls are missing.
