CVE-2021-44510: An issue was discovered in FIS GT.M through V7.0-000 (related to the YottaDB code base).

An issue was discovered in FIS GT.M through V7.0-000 (related to the YottaDB code base). Using crafted input, attackers can cause a calculation of the size of calls to memset in op_fnj3 in sr_port/op_fnj3.c to result in an extremely large value in order to cause a segmentation fault and crash the application.

Security readout for executives and security teams

CVE-2021-44510 is a crash vulnerability in FIS GT.M through V7.0-000. Crafted input can trigger an extremely large memory-setting operation calculation, causing a segmentation fault. The documented impact is application availability disruption, not data theft or code execution. Exposure is likely limited to systems running FIS GT.M through V7.0-000 or related YottaDB code paths. Confirm actual exposure by inventorying deployed GT.M/YottaDB versions and checking whether applications process untrusted input through affected functionality. Prioritize this where GT.M supports business-critical applications, especially systems exposed to untrusted input. Current evidence supports availability risk, but severity is hard to rank because public scoring and exploitation details are missing. Mitigation focus: Identify all FIS GT.M and related YottaDB deployments and versions.; Review vendor guidance and GT.M V7.0-002 release notes for remediation direction.; Plan upgrade or replacement of GT.M versions through V7.0-000 where applicable..
