Security readout for executives and security teams

Plain-English summary

CVE-2021-2155 is an Oracle E-Business Suite issue in One-to-One Fulfillment Documents. An unauthenticated HTTP attacker could cause unauthorized changes to some accessible data, but the attack requires another person to interact. The published impact is limited to integrity, not data disclosure or downtime.

Executive priority

Treat as a scheduled remediation item unless the affected E-Business Suite service is broadly exposed or supports sensitive business workflows. The issue can alter some data, but public evidence provided here does not support active exploitation or major confidentiality impact.

Technical view

Affected supported versions are Oracle One-to-One Fulfillment 12.1.1-12.1.3 and 12.2.3-12.2.10. CVSS 3.1 is 4.3: network reachable, low complexity, no privileges, user interaction required, unchanged scope, low integrity impact, no confidentiality or availability impact.

Likely exposure

Exposure is likely only where Oracle E-Business Suite includes Oracle One-to-One Fulfillment with the Documents component on affected versions and reachable via HTTP. Systems not running that product/component, or already remediated under Oracle guidance, are not indicated as affected by the provided sources.

Exploitation context

The source bundle does not show CISA KEV listing, public exploitation, or exploit details. Oracle describes the issue as easily exploitable over HTTP without authentication, but requiring human interaction by someone other than the attacker.

Researcher notes

No CWE is listed in the bundle. The CVSS vector narrows impact to low integrity change with required user interaction. The public sources provided do not identify vulnerable parameters, proof-of-concept material, or exploit activity, so validation should focus on product presence, version range, exposure, and patch status.

Mitigation direction

  • Check Oracle April 2021 CPU guidance for the relevant E-Business Suite patches.
  • Prioritize affected internet-reachable or broadly accessible E-Business Suite instances.
  • Limit HTTP access to Oracle E-Business Suite where business operations allow.
  • Review user-facing workflows that interact with One-to-One Fulfillment Documents.
  • Monitor Oracle advisories for any revised remediation or affected-version guidance.

Validation and detection

  • Inventory Oracle E-Business Suite instances and enabled One-to-One Fulfillment components.
  • Confirm whether versions fall within 12.1.1-12.1.3 or 12.2.3-12.2.10.
  • Verify patch status against Oracle Critical Patch Update April 2021.
  • Identify HTTP exposure paths to the affected application.
  • Review change records for unexpected One-to-One Fulfillment data modifications.
