IBM Security Information Queue (ISIQ) 1.0.0, 1.0.1, and 1.0.2 could allow a remote attacker to hijack the clicking action of the victim. By persuading a victim to visit a malicious Web site, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to hijack the victim's click actions and possibly launch further attacks against the victim. IBM X-Force ID: 159226.

Security readout for executives and security teams

Plain-English summary

IBM Security Information Queue versions 1.0.0 through 1.0.2 are vulnerable to clickjacking. An attacker could trick a user into visiting a malicious website and hijack that user’s clicks, potentially enabling follow-on actions. This needs user interaction and is rated medium, not critical.

Executive priority

Treat this as a moderate-priority remediation item. It is not known to be actively exploited from the supplied evidence, but affected systems can enable user-driven actions that may support further attacks.

Technical view

The CVE describes a remotely triggerable clickjacking issue in IBM Security Information Queue 1.0.0, 1.0.1, and 1.0.2. CVSS 3.0 is 6.1 with network attack vector, no privileges required, required user interaction, changed scope, low confidentiality impact, low integrity impact, and no availability impact.

Likely exposure

Exposure is limited to organizations running IBM Security Information Queue 1.0.0, 1.0.1, or 1.0.2, especially where users access the ISIQ web interface from browsers that could also reach attacker-controlled pages.

Exploitation context

The provided sources do not show active exploitation, and the CVE is not listed as KEV. Exploitation requires persuading a victim to visit a malicious website, then abusing click actions in the vulnerable ISIQ context.

Researcher notes

The source bundle does not include CWE mapping or detailed fix text. Analysis should stay tied to IBM’s advisory and X-Force entry. Avoid assuming affected versions beyond 1.0.0, 1.0.1, and 1.0.2.

Mitigation direction

  • Inventory ISIQ deployments and identify versions 1.0.0, 1.0.1, or 1.0.2.
  • Review IBM advisory guidance for the supported remediation path.
  • Apply IBM-confirmed updates or configuration changes where applicable.
  • Limit access to the ISIQ web interface while remediation is pending.
  • Warn administrators against browsing untrusted sites during active ISIQ sessions.

Validation and detection

  • Confirm installed ISIQ versions against the affected version list.
  • Verify whether IBM guidance has been applied on each affected instance.
  • Check access controls around the ISIQ web interface.
  • Document whether exposed users are administrators or lower-privileged users.
  • Record that no KEV evidence is present in the provided bundle.
