CVE-2019-3790: Ops Manager uaa client issues tokens after refresh token expiration

The Pivotal Ops Manager, 2.2.x versions prior to 2.2.23, 2.3.x versions prior to 2.3.16, 2.4.x versions prior to 2.4.11, and 2.5.x versions prior to 2.5.3, contain configuration that circumvents refresh token expiration. A remote authenticated user can gain access to a browser session that was supposed to have expired, and access Ops Manager resources.

Security readout for executives and security teams

Pivotal Ops Manager session handling could let a logged-in remote user keep using a browser session after it should have expired. This creates risk of continued access to management resources, especially where shared workstations, stale browser sessions, or weak session monitoring exist. Exposure is limited to Pivotal Ops Manager 2.2.x before 2.2.23, 2.3.x before 2.3.16, 2.4.x before 2.4.11, and 2.5.x before 2.5.3. Treat this as a moderate-priority identity and management-plane issue. It does not indicate unauthenticated compromise, but delayed remediation could leave expired sessions usable against a sensitive operational console. Mitigation focus: Upgrade affected Ops Manager branches to the fixed versions or later.; Review the Pivotal advisory before changing authentication or session settings.; Reduce unnecessary Ops Manager administrative access..

Use of a Key Past its Expiration Date

Use of a Key Past its Expiration Date represents a recurring weakness pattern that can create exploitable paths when design, validation, or implementation controls are missing.
