Vulnerability in the Java SE, Java SE Embedded product of Oracle Java SE (component: Security). Supported versions that are affected are Java SE: 7u231, 8u221, 11.0.4 and 13; Java SE Embedded: 8u221. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, Java SE Embedded. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized read access to a subset of Java SE, Java SE Embedded accessible data. Note: This vulnerability applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets (in Java SE 8), that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. This vulnerability can also be exploited by using APIs in the specified Component, e.g., through a web service which supplies data to the APIs. CVSS 3.0 Base Score 3.7 (Confidentiality impacts). Security readout for executives and security teams

This is a low-severity Oracle Java information-disclosure issue. It affects specific Java SE and Java SE Embedded versions from 2019 and can expose a limited subset of accessible data. The main concern is legacy Java deployments that still run untrusted sandboxed Java code or services that feed data into affected Java security APIs. Exposure is most likely in legacy Java runtimes, Java SE Embedded deployments, sandboxed Java Web Start or applet use, and services using affected Java security APIs with externally supplied data. Treat as routine patching unless legacy Java sandboxed-code workflows remain business-critical. Prioritize internet-facing services and embedded products using affected Java versions. Mitigation focus: Upgrade affected Oracle Java or OpenJDK versions using vendor security guidance.; Apply relevant Debian, openSUSE, Ubuntu, Oracle, or product vendor advisories where applicable.; Remove or isolate Java Web Start and applet workflows that load untrusted code..
