CVE-2019-20467: An issue was discovered on Sannce Smart HD Wifi Security Camera EAN 2 950004 595317 devices.

An issue was discovered on Sannce Smart HD Wifi Security Camera EAN 2 950004 595317 devices. The device by default has a TELNET interface available (which is not advertised or functionally used, but is nevertheless available). Two backdoor accounts (root and default) exist that can be used on this interface. The usernames and passwords of the backdoor accounts are the same on all devices. Attackers can use these backdoor accounts to obtain access and execute code as root within the device.

Security readout for executives and security teams

Some Sannce Smart HD Wifi Security Camera devices were shipped with a hidden Telnet service and fixed backdoor accounts. If that service is reachable, an attacker could gain root control of the camera. Sources do not name a patch, CVSS score, or active exploitation. Exposure is limited to the named Sannce camera model where TELNET is enabled and reachable. Risk rises sharply if cameras are internet-exposed, on flat internal networks, or unmanaged IoT segments. Treat as high priority for any deployed matching cameras. Root access to surveillance devices can create privacy, safety, and network pivot risk, but urgency depends on whether TELNET is reachable. Mitigation focus: Check Sannce guidance for firmware updates or official remediation.; Remove affected cameras from internet-reachable networks.; Block TELNET access to cameras from untrusted networks..
