Centreon 18.x before 18.10.6, 19.x before 19.04.3, and Centreon web before 2.8.29 allows the attacker to execute arbitrary system commands by using the value "init_script"-"Monitoring Engine Binary" in main.get.php to insert a arbitrary command into the database, and execute it by calling the vulnerable page www/include/configuration/configGenerate/xml/generateFiles.php (which passes the inserted value to the database to shell_exec without sanitizing it, allowing one to execute system arbitrary commands).

Security readout for executives and security teams

CVE-2019-13024 is a Centreon command execution flaw. A malicious user can place a command into a monitoring engine configuration value and trigger Centreon to run it on the server. For executives, the concern is loss of control over a monitoring platform that may have broad visibility into infrastructure. Organizations running Centreon 18.x, Centreon 19.x, or Centreon web below the fixed versions are the relevant exposure set. Risk is higher where the Centreon web interface is reachable by untrusted users or weakly controlled administrator accounts. Prioritize remediation if Centreon is still on affected versions or reachable beyond trusted operations staff. Monitoring systems often hold privileged infrastructure context, so successful command execution can create broader operational and incident-response risk. Mitigation focus: Upgrade Centreon 18.x to 18.10.6 or later.; Upgrade Centreon 19.x to 19.04.3 or later.; Upgrade Centreon web to 2.8.29 or later..
