CVE-2019-12773: An issue was discovered in Verint Impact 360 15.1.

An issue was discovered in Verint Impact 360 15.1. At wfo/help/help_popup.jsp, the helpURL parameter can be changed to embed arbitrary content inside of an iFrame. Attackers may use this in conjunction with social engineering to embed malicious scripts or phishing pages on a site where this product is installed, given the attacker can convince a victim to visit a crafted link.

Security readout for executives and security teams

Verint Impact 360 15.1 has a help page that can be manipulated to show attacker-chosen content inside the trusted application page. The likely business risk is phishing or script delivery through a convincing link, not direct server takeover. Successful abuse depends on social engineering and a victim visiting the crafted link. Exposure is most likely where Verint Impact 360 15.1 is deployed and the affected help popup route is reachable by users, especially over the internet or from broad internal networks. The source bundle does not identify other affected versions or products. Treat this as a moderate phishing and trusted-site abuse risk. Prioritize if Verint Impact 360 15.1 is internet-facing, used by high-value staff, or lacks compensating web controls. Do not assume emergency patching is possible until vendor guidance is confirmed. Mitigation focus: Check Verint guidance for the affected version; sources do not name a patch.; Restrict external access to Impact 360 help pages where feasible.; Review whether the affected help popup behavior can be disabled safely..
