Security readout for executives and security teams

CVE-2018-2752 is an Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM 9.2 vulnerability that can let a low-privileged HTTP user alter or read some HCM data if another person interacts with the attack. It is a data integrity and confidentiality risk, not an availability outage risk. Exposure is most likely where Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM 9.2 is reachable over HTTP by employee, contractor, or partner accounts. Internet-facing self-service portals increase concern, but the source bundle does not confirm affected deployment patterns beyond network access via HTTP. Prioritize remediation for PeopleSoft HCM environments that store HR, payroll, benefits, or employee identity data. The risk is moderate because exploitation needs authentication and user interaction, but successful attacks can change HCM data and may affect connected products. Mitigation focus: Review Oracle's April 2018 Critical Patch Update guidance for CVE-2018-2752.; Apply the relevant Oracle PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 security fixes or later vendor-supported updates.; Limit PeopleSoft HTTP access to trusted networks, VPN, or controlled application gateways..
