A vulnerability in the Web Admin Interface of Cisco Meeting Server could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of incoming HTTP requests. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to the Web Admin Interface of an affected Cisco Meeting Server. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to restart the system, terminating all ongoing calls and resulting in a DoS condition on the affected product. This vulnerability affects the following releases of Cisco Meeting Server: Acano X-Series, Cisco Meeting Server 1000, Cisco Meeting Server 2000. Cisco Bug IDs: CSCvi48624.

Security readout for executives and security teams

This flaw can let a logged-in remote user crash or restart a Cisco Meeting Server through its web administration interface. A successful attack would end active calls and create a service outage, but the provided sources do not show unauthenticated access, data theft, or confirmed active exploitation. Exposure is most likely where affected Cisco Meeting Server products are still deployed and the Web Admin Interface is reachable by authenticated remote users. Internet-facing or broadly accessible admin interfaces increase operational risk. Treat this as a business continuity risk for conferencing services. Prioritize if Cisco Meeting Server supports critical meetings, executive communications, telehealth, incident response, or customer-facing collaboration. Mitigation focus: Identify any deployed Acano X-Series, Meeting Server 1000, or Meeting Server 2000 systems.; Check Cisco advisory guidance for affected and fixed software releases.; Restrict Web Admin Interface access to trusted administrators and management networks..
