A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Videoscape AnyRes Live could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the web-based management interface of an affected device. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input by the web-based management interface of an affected device. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user of the interface to click a crafted link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the interface or allow the attacker to access sensitive browser-based information. Security readout for executives and security teams

CVE-2018-0220 is a cross-site scripting flaw in the Cisco Videoscape AnyRes Live web management interface. An authenticated remote attacker would need to persuade an interface user to click a crafted link. If successful, script could run in that user's browser session and expose browser-based sensitive information. Exposure is limited to organizations running Cisco Videoscape AnyRes Live with users who access its web management interface. Risk is higher if that interface is reachable from broad networks or if authenticated users can be targeted through email, chat, or other link-delivery paths. Treat this as a targeted administration-plane risk, not a broad internet worm risk based on the supplied evidence. Prioritize if the product is still deployed, externally reachable, or used by privileged administrators. Mitigation focus: Check Cisco advisory guidance for fixed software or recommended actions.; Restrict management interface access to trusted administrative networks.; Review who has authenticated access to the management interface..
