Security readout for executives and security teams

CVE-2017-5141 affects listed Honeywell XL Web II and XLWeb 500 controller software. The issue lets a new session be created without replacing an existing session ID, creating a session-fixation risk where authenticated sessions may be stolen. Exposure is most likely where affected Honeywell controller web interfaces are reachable by users or networks that should not interact with controller administration sessions. Treat this as a targeted operational technology exposure review, not a broad internet emergency, unless affected controller interfaces are widely reachable. Mitigation focus: Check Honeywell and ICS-CERT guidance for supported fixes or mitigations.; Identify and prioritize listed XLWebExe versions at or below affected releases.; Restrict controller web interfaces to trusted administration networks only..
