Security readout for executives and security teams

CVE-2017-3344 affects Oracle E-Business Suite’s Oracle Marketing UI. An unauthenticated person who can reach the service over HTTP could compromise marketing data if a separate user interaction occurs. Successful attacks may expose critical data and allow some unauthorized data changes, so affected EBS environments deserve prompt verification and patch review. Exposure is most likely in organizations running the listed Oracle E-Business Suite versions with Oracle Marketing reachable over HTTP. Internet-facing, partner-facing, or broadly internal EBS deployments increase concern. The bundle does not identify affected configurations beyond product, versions, UI subcomponent, and HTTP network access. Treat this as high priority for any affected E-Business Suite deployment, especially where HTTP access is exposed beyond tightly controlled networks. The business risk is unauthorized access to critical marketing data and some unauthorized modification of Oracle Marketing data. No active exploitation is confirmed in the supplied evidence. Mitigation focus: Review Oracle’s January 2017 Critical Patch Update guidance for this CVE.; Apply the applicable Oracle E-Business Suite fixes for affected supported versions.; Limit HTTP access to Oracle E-Business Suite where business operations permit..
