Security readout for executives and security teams

CVE-2017-3278 affects Oracle E-Business Suite One-to-One Fulfillment 12.1.3. An unauthenticated attacker with HTTP network access could compromise sensitive data and alter some accessible data, but the attack requires user interaction. Treat internet-exposed or broadly reachable EBS instances as a high business risk. Exposure is most likely where Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3 includes One-to-One Fulfillment and HTTP access is reachable by untrusted users. The bundle does not identify other affected versions or products. Prioritize remediation for any reachable EBS 12.1.3 environment because the vulnerability can expose critical data and permit data modification. Urgency is high, though public evidence here does not establish active exploitation. Mitigation focus: Review Oracle's January 2017 Critical Patch Update and apply the relevant E-Business Suite fixes.; Restrict HTTP access to Oracle E-Business Suite to trusted networks and users.; Check vendor guidance before using compensating controls as a substitute for patching..
