CVE-2017-2738: VCM5010 with software versions earlier before V100R002C50SPC100 has an authentication bypass vulnerability.

VCM5010 with software versions earlier before V100R002C50SPC100 has an authentication bypass vulnerability. This is due to improper implementation of authentication for accessing web pages. An unauthenticated attacker could bypass the authentication by sending a crafted HTTP request. 5010 with software versions earlier before V100R002C50SPC100 has an arbitrary file upload vulnerability. Security readout for executives and security teams

Huawei VCM5010 systems running software earlier than V100R002C50SPC100 may allow attackers to bypass web-page authentication. The source also describes arbitrary file upload by an authenticated attacker. For executives, the concern is unauthorized access to a security-related appliance and possible system modification if the vulnerable product is present. Exposure is limited to organizations operating Huawei VCM5010 versions earlier than V100R002C50SPC100, particularly where the web management surface is reachable by untrusted networks or users. Treat as high priority if VCM5010 is deployed. The issue can undermine administrative access controls, but urgency depends on whether affected devices are present and reachable. Mitigation focus: Inventory Huawei VCM5010 deployments and owners.; Check Huawei advisory guidance for supported remediation.; Upgrade away from versions earlier than V100R002C50SPC100 where applicable..
