CVE-2017-17174: Some Huawei products RSE6500 V500R002C00; SoftCo V200R003C20SPCb00; VP9660 V600R006C10; eSpace U1981 V100R0...

Some Huawei products RSE6500 V500R002C00; SoftCo V200R003C20SPCb00; VP9660 V600R006C10; eSpace U1981 V100R001C20; V200R003C20; V200R003C30; V200R003C50 have a weak algorithm vulnerability. To exploit the vulnerability, a remote, unauthenticated attacker has to capture TLS traffic between clients and the affected products. The attacker may launch the Bleichenbacher attack on RSA key exchange to decrypt the session key and the previously captured sessions by some cryptanalytic operations. Successful exploit may cause information leak.

Security readout for executives and security teams

This CVE affects specific Huawei conferencing and communications products. An attacker who can capture TLS traffic may be able to decrypt previously captured sessions through a Bleichenbacher-style weakness, causing information exposure. The sources do not show active exploitation or a CVSS score. Exposure is limited to listed Huawei RSE6500, SoftCo, VP9660, and eSpace U1981 versions that process client TLS traffic. Risk is higher where attackers can observe network traffic. Treat as a targeted confidentiality risk, not a mass-exploitation emergency based on the provided evidence. Prioritize systems handling sensitive communications or exposed to untrusted network paths. Mitigation focus: Inventory listed Huawei products and versions in production networks.; Review Huawei PSIRT guidance for supported fixes or configuration changes.; Prioritize remediation where TLS traffic crosses untrusted networks..
