IBM Emptoris Sourcing 9.5 - 10.1.3 could allow a remote attacker to conduct phishing attacks, using an open redirect attack. By persuading a victim to visit a specially-crafted Web site, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to spoof the URL displayed to redirect a user to a malicious Web site that would appear to be trusted. This could allow the attacker to obtain highly sensitive information or conduct further attacks against the victim. IBM X-Force ID: 128177.

Security readout for executives and security teams

IBM Emptoris Sourcing versions 9.5 through 10.1.3 contain an open redirect issue. An attacker could trick a user into following a trusted-looking link that sends them to a malicious site, enabling phishing or follow-on attacks. Exposure is most likely where affected Emptoris Sourcing instances are reachable by users who may receive external links, especially internet-facing or partner-accessible deployments. Treat this as a moderate phishing-enablement risk, not a system takeover based on current evidence. Prioritize if Emptoris is internet-facing or handles sensitive procurement activity. Mitigation focus: Review IBM advisory SWG22005834 and X-Force 128177 for vendor remediation.; Inventory Emptoris Sourcing versions 9.5 through 10.1.3.; Apply IBM-supported updates or configuration guidance if available..
