Security readout for executives and security teams

This issue affects Oracle Hospitality Guest Access 4.2.0 and 4.2.1. A low-privileged attacker who can reach it over HTTP could, with another person’s interaction, read some data and modify some records. The reported impact is limited to confidentiality and integrity; availability impact is not identified. Exposure is likely limited to organizations running Oracle Hospitality Guest Access versions 4.2.0 or 4.2.1 with HTTP access reachable by low-privileged users. Internet exposure is not stated in the sources and should be verified from asset data. Treat as a moderate-priority hospitality application issue. Prioritize remediation if the system stores guest or operational data, is broadly reachable over HTTP, or has many low-privileged users. The sources do not justify emergency handling based on active exploitation. Mitigation focus: Identify Oracle Hospitality Guest Access 4.2.0 and 4.2.1 deployments.; Review Oracle’s October 2017 CPU guidance for the supported vendor fix.; Apply vendor-supported updates or compensating controls where patching is delayed..
