CVE-2017-10265: Vulnerability in the Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) component of Oracle Sun Systems Products S...

Vulnerability in the Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) component of Oracle Sun Systems Products Suite (subcomponent: System Management). The supported version that is affected is Prior to 3.2.6. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) accessible data as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) accessible data and unauthorized ability to cause a partial denial of service (partial DOS) of Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM). CVSS 3.0 Base Score 7.3 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:L).

Security readout for executives and security teams

This vulnerability affects Oracle ILOM management controllers on Sun Systems before version 3.2.6. If the HTTP management interface is reachable, an unauthenticated network attacker could alter some management data, read some data, or cause partial service disruption. Exposure is most likely where Oracle Sun Systems ILOM prior to 3.2.6 is reachable over HTTP, especially from broad internal networks or the internet. The sources do not identify specific models beyond Oracle Sun Systems Products Suite. Prioritize remediation for any reachable ILOM interfaces because this affects out-of-band server management. Business risk is higher when management ports are exposed beyond tightly controlled admin networks. Mitigation focus: Upgrade affected Oracle ILOM deployments from versions prior to 3.2.6 per Oracle guidance.; Review Oracle CPU October 2017 for the applicable ILOM update path.; Restrict HTTP management access to trusted administration networks only..
