Security readout for executives and security teams

CVE-2017-10061 affects Oracle PeopleSoft PeopleTools Integration Broker. An unauthenticated attacker who can reach the service over HTTP may alter some PeopleTools-accessible data, read some data, and cause partial service disruption. The affected versions listed are PeopleTools 8.54 and 8.55. Organizations running Oracle PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.54 or 8.55 with Integration Broker reachable over HTTP have the clearest exposure. Internet-facing or broadly reachable PSIGW/Integration Gateway deployments carry higher risk. Treat as high priority for any exposed PeopleSoft environment. The business concern is unauthorized data change and read access in a core enterprise application, plus partial denial of service, without attacker authentication. Mitigation focus: Apply Oracle July 2017 CPU guidance or later vendor-supported PeopleTools fixes.; Restrict Integration Broker and PSIGW HTTP access to trusted networks only.; Review whether affected PeopleTools 8.54 or 8.55 systems remain in service..
