The Symantec ProxySG 6.5 (prior to 6.5.10.6), 6.6, and 6.7 (prior to 6.7.2.1) management console is susceptible to a reflected XSS vulnerability. A remote attacker can use a crafted management console URL in a phishing attack to inject arbitrary JavaScript code into the management console web client application. Security readout for executives and security teams

This CVE affects the Symantec ProxySG management console. An attacker could send an administrator a malicious console link that runs JavaScript in the console session if clicked. The main business risk is compromise or manipulation of a privileged management interface through phishing, not broad unauthenticated device takeover based on the supplied sources. Exposure is most likely where affected ProxySG management consoles are reachable by administrators through browsers. Internet-reachable or broadly accessible management interfaces increase risk, especially if administrators can be phished into opening crafted console URLs. Treat this as a management-plane security issue with moderate urgency. Prioritize appliances with exposed or broadly reachable consoles, then upgrade or apply vendor-directed remediation. The risk depends heavily on administrator phishing exposure and console access controls. Mitigation focus: Upgrade ProxySG 6.5 to 6.5.10.6 or later.; Upgrade ProxySG 6.7 to 6.7.2.1 or later.; For ProxySG 6.6, check Symantec SA155 for the supported remediation path..
