Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in admin/class-bulk-editor-list-table.php in the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin before 1.5.7, 1.6.x before 1.6.4, and 1.7.x before 1.7.4 for WordPress allow remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) order_by or (2) order parameter in the wpseo_bulk-editor page to wp-admin/admin.php. NOTE: this can be leveraged using CSRF to allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands.

Security readout for executives and security teams

This is an old SQL injection flaw in the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin. A logged-in user could abuse vulnerable bulk editor sorting parameters to run database queries. The CVE also notes CSRF could let an external attacker trigger the issue through an authenticated administrator. Exposure is limited to WordPress installations running the affected Yoast plugin versions. Risk is higher where administrators stay logged in, untrusted users have wp-admin access, or legacy plugin copies remain on public sites. Prioritize remediation for any internet-facing WordPress site still running legacy Yoast SEO versions. The issue is old and patched, but SQL injection plus public exploit references makes unresolved exposure unacceptable. Mitigation focus: Upgrade WordPress SEO by Yoast to a fixed or current supported version.; Use 1.7.4 or later for the 1.7 branch.; Confirm older 1.5.x or 1.6.x branches meet their fixed versions..
