Unrestricted file upload vulnerability in manager/media/ibrowser/scripts/rfiles.php in Etomite CMS 0.6.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload and execute arbitrary files via an nfile[] parameter with a filename that contains a .php extension followed by a valid image extension such as .gif or .jpg, then calling the rename function.

Security readout for executives and security teams

CVE-2006-7070 is an old Etomite CMS issue where a remote attacker could upload a file that appears image-related but can be executed as PHP. If an exposed legacy Etomite site still runs version 0.6.1 or earlier, compromise could lead to server-side code execution. Exposure is likely limited to legacy Etomite CMS deployments, especially internet-facing administrative or media browser paths. The source bundle does not identify affected CPEs, distributions, or hosted variants. Treat as high priority only where legacy Etomite is still exposed. The vulnerability can enable remote code execution, but the affected product is old and evidence of active exploitation is not provided. Mitigation focus: Inventory for Etomite CMS 0.6.1 and earlier.; Check vendor guidance for a fixed release or supported workaround.; Restrict public access to affected manager/media/ibrowser paths if present..
